I've always loved reading. According to my parents I read fluently from an early age.

I read English Literature at Lancaster University, gaining a 2:1. I then worked briefly in London as a PA before joining the AQA Examination Board, working in their A Level English department as a Subject Manager and later as a Qualifications Developer.  My positions with AQA gave me extensive experience in the editing and proofreading of educational material.

 

Going freelance was the result of an ambition to utilise my in-house training and experience in a new direction, and I also gained external qualification 

with the Publishing Training Centre 

and the Chartered Institute for Editors and Proofreaders.     

 

In my spare time, other than reading, my hobbies include running, photography, walking my dogs, yoga, hiking, and enjoying a good strong flat white coffee.
